Naughty blogger!

It's been more than a month since my last post. I'll try and briefly note some fo the things we've been up to over the last few weeks.

AUGUST 1st
I grew up in Mundaring so it doesn't take much to convince me to head back up the hill. And I'd never tried truffles but it was on my bucketlist. So when I heard that the Mundaring Truffle Festival was coming up, I demanded we go! It turns out that neither Matt or I like truffles, haha. But we also tried churros, macaroons, chilli products and attended a cooking class presented by Russell Blaikie from Must Winebar.

Bella really enjoyed the Food Finders Tent (run by Slow Food Perth) where she got to dig for potatoes, learn about wheat/flour/pasta and apples and take home a showbag. She was so proud of her potato and we cooked it the next afternoon following a recipe that was in one of the magazines in her showbag. She used to refuse to eat potato but now she loves it so that was a big win! There was a photographer who was covering the event for an article on Jamie Oliver's website and he wanted to take a picture of Bella biting into an apple to use on the website but she refused *sigh* It's not the first time, either. She refused to be part of a photoshoot for Piece of Cake, yet she's generally so obedient and will gladly ham it up in front of the camera for me!

That wasn't our only brush with celebrity, though. As we were eating our lunch (yummy veggie burger for me!) a flustered Poh from Poh's Kitchen scurried past muttering about being late. A fan of advancing years went up and begged her for a photo. Poh was obviously stressed and torn but agreed to stop for a quick photo, then ran off at double-pace. What a legend!

AUGUST 7th-15th
Furniture shopping. Lots and lots of it!! Managed to get most things discounted meaning we've come in well under budget and that money can go back into the savings. Unfortunately the couches aren't ready 'til early October so no pics til at least then.

AUGUST 18th
Bella had her first proper haircut. I left Ashley and a bottle of expressed milk with my Mum and took Bella to Bananaskins. They did a great job and Bella was thrilled. Then we went to Garden City Shopping Centre and had a snack at Utopia... taro bun and melon bubble tea for me, banana smoothie and smiley-face bun for Bella.

There have been other things too... my Mum took Bella to see Toy Story 3D, Ashley had her 4mth needles, I had several Dr appointments for my dodgy thyroid, there were playdates, playgroup, daycare days, grocery shopping, library trips, dinner at Matt's Aunty's restaurant, birthday drinks at The Brisbane Hotel, the opening of the Bassendean Markets and so on. But I *am* trying to be brief, haha!
