If you haven't discovered Pinterest by now, you're really missing out.
Essentially, Pinterest is an online pinboard, sort of like your 'bookmarks' or 'favourites' on your computer except you save an image (and associated details like URL, prices etc) rather than just a website address AND it exists on the net so you can access it from anywhere and share it with anyone.
Just like your bookmarks can have folders, Pinterest lets you have multiple boards so you can group your pins in any way you like.... tutorials, wedding inspiration, hair styles, the colour yellow, cupcake recipes... whatever tickles your fancy. It also allows you to follow other peoples boards and see what they add (let them trawl the internet and find all the best recipes for you, teehee) or search Pinterest.
Why would you want to search Pinterest instead of Google? Well, people only bother to pin the 'good' stuff to Pinterest. Pinterest is a summary of the best of the net. Plus it's a visual display and that's always more inspiring and quicker to sift through than a bunch of Google links. However, a lot of the same stuff gets repinned from board to board to board so it's good to go back to Google occasionally.
The trap is getting addicted to 'pinning' and not actually doing anything with the great things you've discovered. But used well, Pinterest can be a great source of inspiration, instruction and, well, amusement.
